Our recent dinner out at Trivoli Tavern was one of the best meals that I've had in Chicago in years. Traffic wasn't as bad as we expected so we arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation. Our inside table wasn't ready yet (which is to be expected on a busy Friday night) but they offered us a table in the courtyard to have drinks. Very few places would go above and beyond like that. We ended up having a quick drink at Green Street Smoked Meats which was perfect. Everything about our experience at Trivoli Tavern was wonderful. The service was top notch and the vibes were great. We loved getting seated in a cozy booth for the four of us. We shared the coconut shrimp, wedge salad, and parker house rolls and they hit the spot. Between us we were able to try the burger, steak frites, shrimp scampi, and salmon as mains. I can honestly say that the salmon was the best that I've had in a restaurant. We of course couldn't skip dessert with the butterfinger pie and an espresso martini. At no point did we feel rushed but the service was perfectly attentive. I can't wait to return!

Lucky enough to get a seat inside on a swealtering Chicago early afternoon. The service here is potentially the best I've ever had. Every detail was managed swiftly and superbly. Our water cups were never empty, our silverware from apps were changed to our meal needs within SECONDS of the order being placed, including chop sticks for my Sushi. The crab Rangoon is amazing. Super fresh, super duper stuffed and not with "traditional" fake crab. It was fresh and tasted amazing. The espresso martinis were a highlight and go our evening started!

Sat outdoors, it was a gorgeous day but the table and chairs were not stable in the sense they were falling in the cracks of the grout on the brick which was slightly difficult to not focus on. Staff was great and it really is a gorgeous outdoor space. I'd love to eat inside sometime. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was fantastic! So much flavor and it was the best thing I've eaten in a while. It is a bit pricey but it's a decent sized portion, I was still a bit hungry after but overall full.

Right when I walked up I knew I'd like this place. The atmosphere here was great. It was busy but not loud or boisterous. The dim lighting red and leather booths provided an old school slightly swanky yet unpretentious vibe. The service here was outstanding. Our server was friendly but not overly chatty. He was attentive without being obtuse. Our food came out quickly. Our busser was prompt to keep our waters filled and plates and cocktail glasses cleared as we finished them. For the most part I liked the offerings on menu with one exception, the sushi rolls. I felt like it was odd and unnecessary. A nice tuna or salmon tartare would have been a better fit in my opinion. I only eat sushi at sushi restaurants. As a table we shared several dishes and everything was solid. For appetizers we had the artichoke, spinach and goat cheese gratin piping hot and delicious and the Parker house rolls with truffle honey butter delightful soft rolls with a funky sweet compound butter. We shared the wedge salad which they kindly chopped up and tossed with the bacon on the side( we had a no pork eater) the dressing was delicious and didn't skimp on the Gorgonzola nor the ample lardons of bacon. My wife and each got an entree that we split. I had the handmade truffle bucatini with was rich and luxurious thought I would have loved some freshly shaved truffle to top it. My wife got the steak frites the ribeye was tender, seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare served with sauce béarnaise. The fries were a bit lackluster they needed to be a bit more crisp like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. The other people in our group had the crab Rangoon, the vodka rigatoni, meatballs and the French onion soup and were pleased with all the dishes. The drink menu looks great and I ended up getting a grey goose dirty martini with blue cheese olives which was well crafted. All in all a great experience here I definitely recommend it and will be back next trip to Chicago.

This restaurant felt like an old-time speakeasy, loved the little booths! So so glad we came here right before our flight for happy hour. Our favorites were the steak & frites (perfectly seasoned fries + tasty aioli to pair with). Our host was awesome and friendly. He recommended the Sticky Date Cake which was, not to be dramatic, life-changing, as he said it was. I was skeptical but it's definitely a must try!

Visited from out of town and came in on a Tuesday evening for happy hour and it was probably our favorite restaurant in Chicago. Restaurant was big, but had a nostalgic, cozy feel. Our server was very attentive and described the dishes very well. Crab Rangoons (4/5): I personally don't like crab rangoons normally, but these were great. Higher meat-to-sauce ratio, which I appreciate. Spicy Orecchiette (4.5/5): One of my favorite pasta dishes on our trip, just wish it was a little spicier and a little less salty. Steak Frites (5/5): steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the fries were perfection. Sticky Date Cake (100/5): I am not a huge dessert person, but since this was our last stop on the trip, I decided to end it on a good note. I am glad I decided to order this because this is definitely in my top 5 desserts of all time. The ice cream (weirdly enough) helped the dish not be too sweet, and the crunchy cake bits added texture. The cake itself was moist and the toffee syrup was delicious. I'd order this 100x over.

I recently visited Trivoli Tavern on a whim for a mid-week dinner, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were seated on the patio, where we soaked in the charming atmosphere. The interior was equally stunning, adorned with elegant chandeliers, cozy dim lighting, and captivating architecture. What caught our eye were the two separate bars, adding to the tavern's allure. To kick off our meal, we shared the wedge salad, which was impeccably chopped and generously portioned for sharing among three people. The ribs, sourced from the neighboring restaurant owned by the same proprietor, were a savory delight that left us craving more. For our main course, we opted for two pasta dishes: the sausage pasta and the vodka rigatoni. Both were freshly made and cooked to perfection. For a quick desert, we shared the Keylime pie, a refreshing treat that perfectly complemented the warm evening. Throughout our dining experience, the service was attentive and accommodating, albeit slightly overly enthusiastic at times. Overall, Trivoli Tavern provided a memorable evening filled with delectable dishes and a charming ambiance. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a relaxing and satisfying dining experience.

Can't get into Trivoli? Dressed a little more casual? Have no fear the lobster bar is here. We stopped by after not being able to get into Au Cheval and glad we did... I'm still dreaming of the crab Rangoon Give me a sushi roll and some rangoons and a happy camper..... add in some delicious soft buttery bread rolls and I'm a happy camper! We will be back to try more !

Trivoli Tavern is overwhelming deserving of a five star rating! I went to Trivoli Tavern last night to celebrate my birthday with my partner. We were blown away by the delicious food, attentive service, and charming interior. Our server, Chyna, went above and beyond. She was warm and perfectly attentive. We felt entirely taken care of throughout the evening. She is easily the best server I have ever had in Chicago. I cannot rave about her enough! To start, we ordered the meatballs and rolls. They came out fast and were hot, fresh, and tasty. For our entrees, we ordered the Vodka Rigatoni (of course) and the Spicy Orecchiette. The Vodka Rigatoni was rich and flavorful, but the Spicy Orecchiette was the star of the show IMO. I would not skip this dish! Overall, I was entirely pleased with our experience and cannot wait to return! 11/10!

Finally got to experience Trivoli Tavern and it did not disappoint. The service was incredible from the second we checked in to our reservation, to the moment we left our dinner. The staff was courteous and prompt and we never felt any lulls in service or felt too rushed by our waiter. The ambiance is also lovely - dark and cozy feeling with beautiful ambient lighting throughout. It felt intimate despite being quite a large dining space. To start we ordered: the rolls, cornbread, artichoke gratin and French onion soup My only critique was the artichoke gratin was less flavorful than expected. The rest of the starters were great, with my favorite being their Parkerhouse Rolls. For my main I got the vodka rigatoni which was a big hit. The portion was a good size, and I was able to bring half home as leftovers. The rest of my party ordered the steak frites & house salad and had no complaints. Will definitely be back when I'm in town again!
